I recently opened up my two girls and noticed some neck melt, I wrapped their obitsu's with Teflon tape, it seems to have helped the problem so far but i'll have to check them again in a month or so.

Oh holy heck @_@ that's terrible! Now I'm paranoid to let my dolls touch... anything. I hope my Pullips aren't too close to eachother in their case... if they melted... *shivvers* Thanks for the info, that's really good to know T_T

When I asked Requiem about this problem, she replied "
Neck melt only happens with soft torso obitsu
"

Well not necessarily. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it can't.
But Jmadeline posted a picture of her Shinku's neck
here,
on this thread-- who doesn't have a soft torso, and from the pictures, her Shinku's neck HAS slightly melted especially compared to the other picture showing no melt.
Also, it definitely happens with pullips own soft-torso bodies, as my Anne has it and she is still on her original body. My opinion is that it can happen with any body, it just is most common with soft obitsu, but especially the new type of soft obitsu.

Kinda like this?
Priceless! Thank you for the "heads up" on how to do this procedure.
So, it is a chemical reaction of the plastics and nothing to do with climate? I wonder if low humidity helps slow the process.
Again, thanks for the info ~

Does this happen with the boys. Not that I have any boys on obitsu or plan to but I was just curious? I did have one boy who came on an obitsu but I took him straight off it and he went back on a Tae body.
Two of my namu boys have ankle melt - they were like it when I got them. It's not got any worse from what I can see since I had them.

I don't think it happens with boys only because they are on hard plastic bodies. From what I've seen it only happens with Pullip is on soft bodies such as Type 2's and obitsu's. ^^;

My boys are all on Obitsu/Volks bodies and so far nothing has happened. After the scare I did wrap some teflon tape around their necks just in case, but before that there's was no melting issue.
However, I've heard of some type 3 Pullip cases (with stock bodies) but I'm not sure it it's just excess plastic not cut off properly at production or actual melt.
